Ivory Curl or Spotted Silky Oak (Buckinghamia celsissima) can grow to 30 metres with dense dark green canopy, flushed with red during growth periods, the long profuse creamy flowers appear in abundance in summer and the fruit develop into green/brown oval pods. The Ivory Curl has become popular in domestic gardens and as a street tree in Ipswich Qld, currently in full flower.

The heartwood is pale reddish brown, fine even straight grain and looks like a finer version of Silky Oak but more dense at 940kg/m3 compared to Silky Oak (Grevilla robusta) at 640kg/m3. Turns and sands and finishes nicely.
