Dear Members and Friends of the Ipswich Woodcraft Club,
I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you all as the President of our wonderful club, It is my privilege to lead this community of woodcrafts enthusiasts, and am excited about the journey we are embarking upon together.
At the Ipswich Woodcrafts Club, we are committed to creating a safe and inclusinve space where individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels can come together to explore the various facets of woodcraft. Whether you are passionate about turning, carving, scrollsawing, pyrography, or box making, you will find a place here to hone your skills, share your knowledge, and forge lasting friendships.
Our mission is at the core of everything we do, and I’d like to reiterate it for you:
- Promote an Interest in Woodwork: We aim to ignite and nurture a genuine passion for the art and craft of woodworking. Our club serves as a platform for lively discussions, where we can exchange ideas, techniques, and experiences.
- Engage with the Community: We are dedicated to engaging with our local community, particularly with young people. Woodworking is not just a hobby; it’s a valuable skill. By involving younger generations, we hope to preserve and pass on the traditions of woodworking to the future.
- Showcase Member Skills: Our club is a collective of talented artisans. We encourage each member to showcase their skills, and we provide support, encouragement, and guidance to help you realise your woodworking ambitions.
- Conservation and Responsible Resource Use: It is our duty to be responsible stewards of our environment. We advocate for a conservative attitude in our club and the local community regarding the use of our precious natural resources. Sustainability is a value we hold dear.
As we embark on this journey, I encourage you all to actively participate, share your expertise, and learn from one another. Together, we can create a vibrant, creative, and supportive community that not only enhances our individual woodworking skills but also contributes positively to our local community and the environment.
I look forward to meeting each and every one of you, hearing your stories, and witnessing the incredible woodcraft projects that will undoubtedly emerge from our club. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, suggestions, or if there’s anything I can do to support your woodworking journey.
Let’s make this year at the Ipswich Woodcrafts Club truly memorable!
Warm regards,
Geoff
